Quick Tips & Tricks for Coping with COVID-19

Suggestions to assist individuals and families with self-care.

  •  Connect with family and friends: by phone, video chat, or group chats. 
  • Incorporate exercise: going for a walk outside or at the park, yoga, using weights, streaming Zumba videos/classes. 
  • Relaxing Activities: take a warm bath, read, practice deep breathing, gardening, arts and crafts, learn a new hobby, or play a board game with your family. 
  • Eat a well-balanced diet: incorporate fruits and vegetables into your meals. 
  • Sleep: linked to immune system health, can boast your mood.  
  • Limit your screen time as well as news and social media intake. 
  • Control what is realistically within your power: feeling out of control can cause anxiety and hopelessness.  
  • Create a daily schedule/routine for yourself and your family: gives a sense of control and brings some normalcy to your day. 
  • Practice mindfulness: be fully present, aware of where you are and what you’re doing. .
  • Remember: there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This will come to an end, as every pandemic that has ever happened in history has.  
  • Lastly: Continue to follow CDC guidelines and remember to practice self-care.
